Navigator, Book Two: Blind Sighted – first 20,000 words

I set up the plot maps for Blind Sighted and Battlefront, but the Navigator series won the toss. It was a tough decision.  I want to do both!  There’s only two more books in the Eden Lost series, and I’m keen to finish the story.  Our Horsemen are going to be incredibly busy, so get ready for a fast-paced story!

Despite being torn about it, I couldn’t resist finding out where our team went next in Navigator.  These fighters never stop.  The aliens have the human race on the run, and they have even more nasty tricks in their kit bag.  CaliTech is full of weapons engineers, and it’s going to be a real race for domination.  Our soldiers of the future are refusing to stand down, so it’s game on.  They’re not waiting around in CaliTech, and have hit the ground still not fully trained, but ready to rumble!

The thing I love about the Navigator tech is it’s on the real research table now.  Liquid-based armor, body sensors, hydraulics and visors are not just optimistic visions of the future, this stuff is being developed.  It’ll take a long time before we’ll ever see that vision come to life, but it’s where it’ll go in the long run.

I like the characters in the Navigator series.  They’re not super heroes blessed with exceptional powers.  These are ordinary people working out how to step up in a world gone bad.  Maybe I’m an optimist, but when I imagine a post apocalyptic world, I don’t see a bleak landscape.  We crawled out of the proverbial slush and built empires, and somewhere in us is the ability to do that again, no matter what happens.

I’m clearly not the only one who can’t resist a good alien battle with super cool tech, and Enemy Lines is being read by many.  I’m hoping to get Blind Sighted out by early March, and then I’ll be writing Battlefront.  I’ve known how the Eden Lost series plays out from the start, and I’m keen to share it.

In the meantime, I’m 20,000 words into Blind Sighted, and that’s one third of the way for this book (each book in the Navigator series is around 60 – 65,000 words).  The cover for book two is being made now, and I’ll share it with you as soon as I get it.

I’ll be back in touch once I’m closer to release.  In the meantime, I’ll be working hard to get the next story to you.

  1. Hi, glad to hear you have gone for Navigator as I read book one and really enjoyed it (reviewed on Amazon.co.uk). I have Eden Lost on my to read list as well. Thanks for the books, keep them coming.

    1. Thanks, Glenn, I appreciate your support. It’s always tough to decide what to write next, particularly now I have three series on the go. As my first attempt at fiction, the Horsemen series will always hold a special place, and I hope you enjoy the “boys” and their craziness. Where the Horsemen series explore evil and the paranormal, the Navigator series is based on my long-standing interest in sci fi and cool tech. I have such an endless supply of mad characters and weird situations, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of ideas, so I will certainly keep ’em coming! 🙂
